Since 1974, Robert Reid has designed dozens of products, from medical disposables to durable fluid control equipment.  His engineering expertise is mechanical engineering, systems engineering, human factors, biomedical engineering, and design-for-manufacturing.

Robert ("Bob") launched Reid Product Development in 1987.  As the firm's Principal, he has proudly helped over 70 clients across the United States.  He leads his firm's engineering development projects and consults to industry clients.

Prior to going independent, Reid was the corporate staff Scientific Advisor for mechanical engineering at American Hospital Supply Corporation (now Baxter Healthcare Corporation) 1982-1986.  He technically assessed dozens of start-up companies, promoted new business opportunities at the corporate level, and helped to resolve design and production problems at eight of their divisions.

For Puritan-Bennett Corporation (now  Mallinckrodt, Inc. ) 1978-1982, he conceived, designed, and released-to-manufacturing the pneumatic system of their best-selling 7200TM medical intensive-care ventilator.

At Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. 1974-1977, Reid established an analytical chemistry laboratory for inhalation anesthetics and brought a spectrophotometric gas analyzer to market.

Robert Reid is a graduate of UCLA  (BS Engineering, cum laude) and University of Washington (MS Engineering), a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and a registered Professional Engineer ("P.E.", Mechanical, California license).

His day-to-day sports are running with Siberian huskies, bicycling, and gardening.  On getaways to mountains and desert, it's hiking and climbing.
